Exciting News: HydroBot Rumble Challenge Deadline Extended!

Students get ready to design a hydrogen fuelled autonomous vehicle of the future.

How it works

01

Register your school to receive the Challenge guidelines, marking rubric, and workbook.

Create teams comprising a maximum of 5 students. Secondary school teams have the option to participate in two divisions: Junior Division (Grades 7-9) and Senior Division (Grades 10-12). Schools are welcome to enter multiple teams in both divisions. Primary schools do not have any divisions.

TM

Design and build a model hydrogen fuelled autonomous vehicle using any materials (eg. balsawood, Lego    , 3D printing, etc). 

Create a presentation addressing specific requirements highlighting the model.

Nine teams (3 Primary Schools and 6 Secondary Schools) from each State and Territory will be selected to present via Webex. VIC teams will be required to present on stage at the 2024 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

Winners will be selected from each State and Territory, and will receive prizes.

Important dates

VIC 

Submissions (1st Round)

  • Presentations must be submitted by 5PM on 26 February 2024 

  • Schools will be notified of their success to proceed to the next round by:

    • Please note we've had technical difficulties and aim to notify all registered schools today (Tuesday, 5 March 2024)

 

Oral Presentations (2nd Round)

  • Selected teams will be required to attend the 2024 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park where they will present on stage in front of a panel of judges on the following dates:

    • Primary Schools:  21 March 2024

    • Secondary Schools (Junior and Senior Divisions): 22 March 2024

 

Selection of Winners

Winners will be announced on the day of their oral presentations

All Other States/Territories

Submissions (1st Round)

  • Presentations must be submitted by 5PM (AWST) on 31 May 2024 

  • Please note: All registered schools will be sent an email with their personal submission link closer to the submission deadline date. 

  • Schools will be notified of their success to proceed to the next round by 5PM (AWST) on 14 June 2024

 

Oral Presentations (2nd Round)

  • Proposed dates: 17 June to 5 July 2024 (dates may change).
