Racing to Victory: Top VIC Schools Compete in HydroBot Rumble at 2024 F1 Australian Grand Prix!

Glen Waverley Secondary College emerged victorious in STEM Hub's HydroBot Rumble Challenge at the 2024 F1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, with teams Hippotonamous and Hindenburg winning the Junior and Senior secondary school divisions, respectively.

The competition showcased the ingenuity and dedication of young minds from across Victoria. The Glen Waverley teams' success is a testament to their hard work and innovative spirit.

In addition to Glen Waverley's triumph, Scotch College Melbourne delivered an outstanding performance, earning applause for their efforts. Other Glen Waverley teams also received recognition for their dedication and teamwork, reflecting the school's strong commitment to excellence in STEM education.

The primary school division saw Cranbourne Carlisle Primary School take the top honors, clinching the crown in the HydroBot Rumble Challenge. Their victory at the Grand Prix underscores the impressive talent and enthusiasm present in the younger generation.

Special recognition goes to St Kevin's College - Glendalough teams, Einsteam and Crew Z, for their commendable performances. Their efforts exemplify the competitive spirit and innovative thinking that the HydroBot Rumble Challenge aims to foster.

The team from Lighthouse Christian College received the Highly Commendable award. Their innovative approach involved assembling a detailed schematic outlining the essential components for a working hydrogen-fueled model car. This included an extensive list of required items and their corresponding prices, demonstrating thorough planning and a deep understanding of the project's technical aspects.

The HydroBot Rumble Challenge was greatly enhanced by the stellar panel of judges who lent their expertise and time to evaluate the student teams. Key contributions came from Hailee, Vish, and Matt of BAE Systems Australia, alongside Hanna and Troy from Toyota Australia, and Sergeant Dan from the Australian Army. Their invaluable guidance and support were instrumental in inspiring the next generation of innovators, ensuring a rigorous evaluation process.
