The Bee’s Knees Challenge is back for 2025, bringing an exciting STEM adventure to primary school students across Australia. This challenge invites students to explore the fascinating world of pollination, sustainability, and environmental science through hands-on learning and creative problem-solving.

Why participate?
The Bee’s Knees Challenge is a national STEM competition designed for students in grades 3 to 6. The program is built around real-world environmental challenges, with a focus on biodiversity, sustainability, and the vital role bees play in ecosystems. Through engaging experiments, research, and teamwork, students will develop critical thinking and STEM skills while making a real impact on their local environment.

How It Works

Register Your School: Teachers register their class or school team to participate.

Receive Your Challenge Kit: All participating schools receive a digital resource pack filled with guided activities, worksheets, and experiments.

Complete the Challenges: Students will engage in STEM activities that explore pollination, ecosystem health, and sustainability.

Submit Your Project: Schools submit a final project showcasing their students’ learning, solutions, and impact.

Judging & Awards: A panel of STEM experts will review submissions and award the top entry.
Registration & Cost
Participation in the Bee’s Knees Challenge costs $220 (+GST) per school. Payment is only required when full registration opens—pre-registration is free and simply ensures you receive updates and early resources.

Who Can Participate?
For Schools: Open to students in Years 3 to 6 across Australia. Students work in small teams for a chance to win exciting prizes!
For Teachers: Download the challenge resources after registration. You’ll receive everything needed to guide your students through the challenge.
For Homeschoolers: Homeschool groups are welcome! Simply complete registration to access the full challenge materials.
For Students: Form a team of up to 4 classmates and ask your teacher to register your school to get started!
