ScrapHeat Challenge – Transform Waste into Energy!
Inspire your students to tackle real-world problems while learning essential skills from the Australian Curriculum. The ScrapHeat Challenge empowers students to take on the pressing issue of sustainability by turning everyday waste into energy. This hands-on challenge encourages critical thinking, teamwork, and scientific inquiry, bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical environmental solutions.
Your students will:

Engage in creative problem-solving as they design and experiment with waste-to-energy solutions.

Connect classroom learning to real-world challenges, fostering a deeper understanding of science, technology, and environmental stewardship.

Apply their knowledge across multiple subjects, including science, technology, engineering, and environmental studies.
Who can participate?
Students across Australia in Years 3 to 11 can join the ScrapHeat Challenge. Teams will compete for exciting prizes, all while learning key skills in sustainability and STEM.

Teachers: Register your class or student groups to take part in this unique and innovative challenge.

Students: Form teams of up to 5 classmates and ask your teacher to sign you up.

Homeschoolers: Homeschool groups are also invited to participate and compete for student prizes.
Registration cost
For just $350 per school, you can enter as many teams as you like. No limit on how many teams your school can enter!
